What Steam players say

Players praise the game's strong narrative conclusion to the trilogy and improved mechanics, particularly the new top-down sections and return to a unified map structure, though some feel the story is the main draw if you're invested in the series. Common complaints include the cumbersome VRV Zone overlay that makes navigation confusing, the hyperspace mechanic making sections too easy, the lack of DLC content compared to previous entries, and occasional design choices that suggest the developers may not have pushed as hard as they did with earlier games. Overall, the game is well-received by
This is the first game in my Steam Library I've ever wanted to give a mixed review to, but I'm gonna it a thumbs down to balance out the review score, drag it down to reality a bit. To start off with, if you were invested enough in the story to finish BMZ2, then you need to play this game. It's very important to the lore, and should provide enough enjoyment to you story and gameplay wise to make it worthwhile. However if you don't care about the story, it's a little difficult to recommend BMZ3 on its gameplay merits (or lack thereof). It feels kind of like with the story arc that BMZ1 and BMZ2 set up, the designers either were rushed to get this done, or felt comfortable just not trying as hard with this entry because they have you already have you invested hook, line, and sinker. I'll be charitable and assume the game was rushed. It's hard to describe BMZ3's gameplay as anything but "not as good as BMZ1 or BMZ2 were". It simply does not live up to the standard of game design that those two set. I don't want to call it shovelware, but it's bordering on that a bit. There is not a single good area/zone/sector in the game. If you disagree, tell me what your favorite is and wh…2 found this helpful
Great end to the trilogy and I still think this (series) is one of Inti's best work(s). Even though the story is conclusive and am fine with it ending here would not mind seeing this formula evolved even more (especially the top down sections with more movement/combat options). Please make a bundle with all 3 games included (with the DLCs added in to maybe), kind of silly there isn't one already. Otherwise fantastic game!1 found this helpful
Ya know, I didn't know the 2nd game had a sequel until a few years after. This game is great and it basically ends the story of Jason and his robot lover. The gameplay was improved greatly, coming in with new and familiar ideas. I wonder if the original creator of METAFIGHT ever thought their idea would go beyond the first og nes game? Glad it did, this was a fun series to get into. Would recommend if you like metroidvanias and tense top down shooting action.1 found this helpful
What an amazing trilogy of games. This is easily Inti's best series, and it's not even a contest. Every game has something going for it, and the on-going narrative throughout the games is amazing (especially this one... that ending got me real good)!!! This one has the best mechanics easily, with the new top-down sections being way better than before. The only gripe I have is that the hyperspace in those areas makes this a li'l too easy. It even went back to the classic Metroidvania structure of the first game where it's one big map, and the music is outstanding!!!! I can't recommend this (and the rest of the series) enough!!!
I like the game, I've been enjoying it, I think it's better than Zero 2 in almost every way and I'll probably update the review. But oh my god I absolutely hate the VRV Zones. It makes navigation a million times worse because it's overlaid on top of the base map. Not only that but the map doesn't really indicate zones that have areas you can't bypass yet. Also no DLC is really sad. It's a shame that the DLC just got worse and worse with each iteration, I miss the guest characters :< Edit: So I beat the game, my opinion still stands: The VRV zones are cumbersome and lack of DLC or Ex Modes is very disappointing, and they definitely could've organized the map better. Still, at the same time, I absolutely loved the game, but there are a LOT of moments where the game is infinitely more frustrating if you don't have a guide. I don't normally like to spoil stuff about the game for me, but focus on a more Metroidvania-focused world as opposed to Zero 2 along with a lack of obstacle-indicators on the map means you basically have to keep everything memorized, which as I mentioned before is difficult because you can't see the Super Dimension unless you're in it, and same with the oth…
I think I will have a little break from gaming I feel happy
