Private Investigator Lone Carter regains consciousness to find himself lying on a beach near Innsmouth. His body has been ripped apart, and as he fades away into death, he remembers in dreadful glimpses his fatal encounter with a Shoggoth. Awakened by a fire burning within, Carter returns completely recovered but forever changed. Haunted by visions of ineffable truths, he must escape Innsmouth and return to Arkham, where a mystery involving ritual murders and a plot intertwining different eras awaits.THREE PROTAGONISTS, ONE SHARED FATE
You will not only play as Lone Carter. To unveil the mysteries of the bloodline, you will step into the shoes of three distinct characters:- Lone Carter: The private investigator at the heart of the mystery.

This is bad. Far worse than its predecessor. It is technically glitchy (trying to run the game in full-screen forced me to restart my system a couple of times), the art is bad, the animations and perspective are bad. The story is bad, leaping you around between characters willy-nilly with no payoff, and there is a tremendous amount of straight info-dumping. The voice-acting is bad, with actors messing up the inflection of basic idioms, mispronouncing names of places, and no characters ever seem to be credibly speaking to each other. Dull, nonsensical, and it might bork your video card.2 found this helpful
Technically speaking, a significant improvement over the previous title: polished visuals, exciting new locations, more characters, interesting puzzles, deeper diving into the Lovecraftian mythos. Definitely a decent and enjoyable adventure game, with some lovely story moments and memorable art. However, the game falls a bit short when it comes to exposition and pacing. Slow dialogs here and there, unnecessary character interactions often burdened by inconsistent voice acting. The story tries to fit everything Lovecraftian into a common narrative and sometimes lacks in substance. Overall, happily recommended for Lovecraft fans out there and definitely for hardcore point-and-click enthusiasts.

I really liked the atmosphere. Some of the voice-over seems off, but the story, the graphics. All in all a nice experience :)
Very good adaptation of the Cthulhu Mythos. Engaging story and plot. Realistic puzzles, that made sense. Only negative that others also mentioned: The voice acting was sloppy many times and the story suffered from it. I would invest in hiring a voice-over director to guide the actors. Overall, I feel like there was a lot of effort and love invested on the game by the creators and I really appreciate this. I've also played the first game and this was even better. I hope there is a third one. I will definitely support it.
Incomprehensible story, most puzzles are solved by guesswork.
