Endorlight has some charm — the chiptune soundtrack is genuinely enjoyable and the retro pixel aesthetic is easy on the eyes — but it's hard to recommend once you learn it's essentially a purchased Game Maker asset pack with minimal modifications slapped onto Steam. Even setting that aside, the controls feel laggy and inconsistent, the enemies are trivially easy, and the randomly generated levels quickly become monotonous with no real goal to push you forward. I made it surprisingly deep into the game before dying, which sounds like a compliment but really just underscores how little challenge or tension the game creates. If you snag it for free through a giveaway site and want to kill 20 minutes, fine — but spend your money on Spelunky instead.
