I wish there was some sort of way to give a neutral review because this game has both positives and negatives. The positives are that the game has good 'bones'. The guild hall upgrade system and working your way up to becoming the #1 guild feel great to interact with. You are constantly getting upgrades and feeling stronger. It also has some great small interactions between cast members and you can tell some of the writers adored the anime. But then there's the negatives. It is wild to me that this game has a base price of $60 when I'm pretty sure the average PS2 game had a bigger budget. This might be one of the worst adaptations of a anime's story I've ever seen. You can first see the problems at the very beginning of the grand magic games. In the 'maze' part of the GMG, elfman isn't even a playable party member, twilight ogre is a bunch of generic monsters rather than actual models, and there is literally no maze to traverse. Then the first day of the GMG consists of them saying, okay, let's send Gray out to fight in match one, fade to black, fairytail lost. Fairy Tail is honestly a great action packed fun RPG game that follows the story of the Anime extremely well, but the only thing I think is bad in this game is that it honestly can be very corner cutting or like lacking in important people like just wont get a model but a text box with an anime face picture. I'm fine with that but it can honestly be kind of bland only seeing like 9 people in the fairy tail guild hall when they are supposed to have like 50+ people from the guild. Another example is when jellal merdy (don't know how to spell merdy) and ultear are all together talking about stuff that's very important and merdy is just not there and her model is non existent. the game also skips some small but important arcs like the key of the starry heavens arc which is important to Lucy's development and just skipping neo aracheon six (dont know how to spell that either in conclusion its a awsome game but is lacking in many parts of it anyways thanks for reading and stuf

Finished, As a Game Adaptation, It really translates the World and Characters pretty well like the Bond System will give you plenty of character interactions that you wouldn’t see in the Anime/Manga, The Game has the issue of starting at the Grand Magic Games arc and it feels it was ONLY made for Fans and or People that watched the Anime/Manga and you have actually a lot of the Previous arcs just to be able to understand everything that is going on which is big barrier of entry, Another Issue is that the Portion For Tartarous, Which I consider to be the Best Arc of the series, would Speed through a lot of the Later fights and only give a montage which feels kinda disappointing since some of those could’ve been decent boss fights, It also skips the content in between the GMG arc and Tartarous which feels like you can’t really experience the story throughout the game only compared to other Anime to Game Adaptations, Another Issue is that if you had any issues with those arcs personally in terms of writing and characters it’s going to be present in the game, But Compared to Eden Zero it’s Way Better Adapting the themes of friends and Bonds into engaging game mechanics like the Bon…

Ok, Ok, Ok. I was soooo skeptical about getting this game, but when I tell you I am enjoying the fu** outta this game. Reminds me of the actual RPGs coming up. Only thing I didn’t really like was that there was no character customization. Come on! I wanted to create my own Experience Character in the fairy tale guilds. Second I wished it was a free rom rpg more so of the takin turns. Also whats up with the one mission at a time thing 🙄🙄😑FIIIXXX IT!! But other than that I am def enjoying it. 🫡🫡🫡🫡

It's amazing how good this game is, I love the rpg battles, the characters of FT are so wel implemented, and I loooove the customizacion of them!!!

My first anime I watched back in 2014 and man they literally made the game of my teenage years I've always wanted! 100% all achievements and loved everything about the game from start to finish 8.5 / 10 loved it
