Gourdlets is a sweet little game to build relaxing spots for your little inhabitants. Do I like it? I'd say 50/50, but more leaning towards negative when it comes to the unlocking part of the items. For a while, I built and decorated, called in new villagers, and collected new decorations. The unlocking part of new items is linked to your little new friend's ability to gather experience through interacting with items you placed. In the beginning, I didn't pay attention to it and just built and had fun watching them stroll around in their own space. Now that I am fully satisfied with what I have built, I just wanted to collect the remaining furniture and the last achievement. Well, the game thinks it needs to take a looong time just to get there. I sit here with at least five remaining furniture items, and they barely collect any XP even though I got over 30 and have now locked them into a spot with just activities and a small space to walk. Fun for people who want to decorate a bit and watch it play out, but not for people who like to unlock everything without it taking unnecessary hours.9 found this helpful

chill game, pretty good if you want to turn your mind off and just press buttons. Love the options to change the seasons :)
This game is cute and has a fun level editor... and that's about it. The UI and building is terrible after the first 30 minutes. The rotation can only be done in 90 degrees, so its not only really hard to get a good angle but it's also very disorienting. I also couldn't find any form of grid or other system to make it so I can make objects, such as buildings, symmetrical. The kinds of buildings and colors you can use is extremely limited, all the houses are basically the same size and look very similar to one another. There's also a huge lack of good foliage items- there are trees and some crop seeds, but no little flowers and only 1 kind of bush. It also always says you "need more mature Gourdlets" to summon the train that unlocks new items, but the Gourdlets mature very, very slowly. There is no goal other than make a pretty island and make the Gourdlets grow up. A cute game and its price is fine, so if this is a game you'd like then by all means please enjoy. But I found it to have no purpose or substance, making the initial awe of "aww cute little guy!" and "ooo pretty furniture!" falter extremely fast.
