About Necrolepsy

Necrolepsy is an action platformer featuring many unique elements wrapped up in a sprawling metroidvania/item search series of levels. But, make sure you watch the timer!

Race Against The Time!

Necrolepsy's main mechanic is the timer that slowly counts down to zero. Once there, the game goes into a nightmare mode! All the enemies and bosses get much harder!

Explore Giant, Sprawling Levels!

Traverse large levels featuring tons of platforming and combat. Fight your way through four large levels, each with unique theming and challenges! They also have unique textures when in a nightmare too!

Play with Your Food!

Featuring momentum and weight in combat, Lira can launch, push and juggle enemies, with a flexible combo system to boot, rewarding you extra money for using unique moves!

Tons of Replayability!

You thought this was it? You can replay the game with a variety of different filters. You can make nightmares permanent, always make it a nightmare, play the game like a classic arcade game with lives, and lead to extras like a boss rush mode and beach volleyball mode!

Tim's thoughts often drift toward changing the past, which ties in nicely with the time-shifting mechanics you'll be employing throughout the entire adventure. Your standard ability allows you to rewind time with the push of a button. The most basic use of this is simply pushing back time to avoid being killed by an enemy or reattempting a mistimed jump, but it goes much deeper than replaying failed opportunities. However, there are green objects and enemies in the world that are unaffected by your time changing powers. So if you unlock a green door and rewind time, it will remain open. Your ability to control time is used in many unexpected and often brilliant ways, making you use parts of your brain that are rarely tapped during most puzzle games. Later levels retain this basic mechanic but add unique twists that ensure every world feels completely different. Which time manipulation tool you are given depends on what world you're currently exploring. In the fourth world, you control time simply by walking. Every step forward pushes objects and enemies forward in time, while moving backward takes them into the past with you. Because these levels have enemies and items that move i…

A short but sweet game, with a satisfying parry and juggling system and a good sense of humor.

"Necrolepsy" is a somewhat quirky and goofy short 2D hack and slash / platforming metroidvania that feels a little unpolished at first glance, but has some nice ideas and fast gameplay. Yoou play the unhinged bounty huntress Lira to find a cure for a curse that makes her time quite literally limited. The premise and the presentation is cartoony and lax and while the levesl may feel a little empty it makes up for fast traversal. Also the spritework is quite good and progression feels intuitive. All in all a solid game for the asked price and a lot of additional content and challenges wait for all those who dig the movement and the juggle-combat mechanic.

A short sweet action adventure game that’s great to pick up and speed your way through in an evening. Necrolepsy, besides being the games name, is a curse that makes the victim constantly fall asleep, have nightmares and have those nightmares come to life. Our main protagonist, Lira a bounty hunter who suffers from said curse, is on a mission to rid herself of it. She must traverse 4 different areas and defeat the Necromancers who placed the curse on her in order to free herself. Armed with just her ax and crossbow she sets out to find the cure and cash in some bounties on the way. The game play is very similar to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. You traverse a multiple corridors fighting tough enemies and finding items to help you advance through the areas. There are a good number of items you can find that expand Lira’s move set. Items such as a clay-more for high attacks, Double Jump Stockings that allow her to jump twice, and even a spear she can throw and ride to reach far out of reach areas. Hidden is these different areas are secret upgrades for health, attack and the sleep timer. The main mechanic that sets the game apart from others like it is the games namesake Necro…
