pixelBOT EXTREME!

The gameplay is that you have to get to the end of the level while defeating enemies and avoiding danger such as spikes. The shooting mechanics of the is the interesting bit in which you have different coloured bullets and can only defeat enemies or obstacles of that colour. Such as only red bullets can destroy the red wires, green bullets destroying green wires. It does start off simple but you get more progress through the game. Along with this, you collect some lettered tiles which spells out "pixelbot" as well as these purple orbs which also gives you shields. Collecting them all will give you 100% of the level, so there is some replayability in that aspect. Bosses are also fun to face, as well as the usual levels since sometimes there are sequences where you need to shooting and swap the colours in quick succession in order to pass through. The retro visuals does look quite cool when accompanied with the colourfulness of the game and background. It's fun playing by yourself, but you can also play with another person in co op mode which would be action packed and he…

Frankly, it's glorified Flappy Bird, not a run 'n gun. The hitboxes and controls are iffy at best, and certainly not up to par with what the level design expects from you. Color coded enemies are a neat idea but the low fire rate and again, not the best controls/hitboxes make it all feel just a bit slippery and not at all satisfying to play. Difficulty sliders are a positive but don't really tide me over into wanting to play it again. 2 out of 5 or something.

New definition of hardcore. Very very difficult and frustrating .. but .. you .. just ... have ... to ... continue!!!!!

This game is for you, if you like hardcore challenging platforming action, that keeps you trying "just one more time" (how the hell have 5 hours passed already?!). The gameplay is easy to learn and hard to master, yet it never feels like you have to "do it again" too often. There are multiple challenges that the game presents you with at the same time: - color-coded bullets that can destroy the corresponding color-coded enemies - "flappy bird" like gravity / jump mechanic - moving obstacles with spikes and other mean traps Despite the fact that the game is really hard, there are lots of checkpoints in each level and you literally continue from that point on immediately if you die. However, the real kicker is the multiplayer: Multiple players work together to overcome the challenges in each level. The color-coded bullets are split up between the players, making it necessary to work together but also making it easier to obliterate all enemies that block your path. This is truly a hidden gem ;)

pixelBOT EXTREME! Is a very cool but unforgiving side scrolling platform game. When you complete each level , seeing that finish flag feels very rewarding! Shoot, die, shoot again! OVERALL: 9/10
