RASPBERRY MASH

I initially had mixed feelings about RASPBERRY MASH but the more I played it, the more I enjoyed it even though it's a rough Roguelite (yes, not a Roguelike) hence I wouldn't necessarily recommend if you are looking for an "entry level" game for the genre, there are more solid alternatives out there. Anyway, I enjoyed the game, it's brutal, it's fun, hence my positive review. [b][u]Pros[/u][/b] ✅ [list] [*]Satisfaying to play, very gory. [*]Good progression system, see further down. [*]Mix of ranged and melee combat. [*]Each melee weapon has a different combo move set. [*]Fair ammount of artifacts (80) and weapons given the repetitiveness of the runs, because (see below)... [/list] [b][u]Cons[/u][/b] ❌ [list] [*]Only 5 floors, no NG+/continuous run. [*]Little variation of room types/layouts. [*]Lacks some polish/balancing. [*]Weird default keys mapping. [/list] As I mentioned upper, I like the progression system which is about collecting souls that you can spend after you beat a boss to obtain stuff that will help further progress, those unlocks are called soul boosts and there are different types, including more slots for the potions/bombs, souls/gold drops increase, new weapon…

Ye, Raspberry mash is a game that exists. It is fun, gory, swift and over all i kinda liked it? I love roguelikes the rogueike Ihave spent most of my time on is Enter the Gungeon, and this game is really similar, but it is not a rip of, it has its own fun elements, but the game is unfinished. It is out for ore than a year, yet the developers reeased it, and never touched it again, and i dont know why? The game is super unbalanced and for someone who has spent arround 400 hours on ETG it is just super easy. Every boss is super primitive and some weapons and artifacts are just stupidly broken. I have defeated the final boss after just 9 hours and it would have took me less, because you need to unlock him with some secret stuff. Only thing that is left for me in this game are upgrades which make it even easier and i dont want that. If it would have had higher difficulty settings I would play it more. Final words: The game is a mess and if the developpers put some more effort into it, made some patches, more enemies, more levels or the could just add difficulty settings and it woud be a much better game worth the 13€. But in the state that it's now I cant recomend it.

Fun little game Really good rogue-lite early on. The branching paths being physical choices to choose the "difficulty" is a nice touch. Really worth it on sale. Don't think i am going to 100 this one however. it kind of drags on after completing the main objective. Particularly our soul currency to unlock weapons and upgrades drops far too little, and no way to reduce the amount of some of the drops means collecting all the artifacts comes down to doing a near impossible amount of runs. good game still. Not for achievement hunting.
