You can move in three dimensions whilst flying around the largest environment ever.
Whether you’re flying around and exploring rockfaces and roofs of buildings in the city, or leaping off cliffs to seamlessly enter battles, you’ll have more freedom in terms of both adventuring and battling.

While the game will give you space to play as you please, the scope of its battles has also evolved.

I have enjoyed this game a lot. Something about flying in the air at will in and out of combat made it really fun. Characters were quite neat and the story was nice. A fun entry in star ocean series that I've enjoyed more than SO4 but less than SO2 Moment to moment was just very enjoyable to me more than anything. One con is that at the start your action gauge for fights is very short, but soon after you unlock "jetpack" and start zipping around and flanking enemies and it increases your gauge. From that point on the game was a very relaxing affair to me.5 found this helpful
Finished the game. Felt really short. When i beat last boss i could not believe it was The last boss. So yeah .... Mid game. Was fun to play but other Star ocean series at least felt a lot longer.3 found this helpful
The game optimization is really terrible. My pc is 9950x, 9070xt, and 64GB, but still got lag performance. Traditional Japanese rpg game. Need a lot of time and patience to play the game.2 found this helpful
I'll always go for some Star Ocean! What started in 1996 as a split from the Tales team has become quite its own thing! One of the first console games to ever have voice acting, Tales has action RPG battles that are different with every installment. There is usually a really deep crafting system and a good story about spacefarers saving the universe and teaming up with peoples from underdeveloped planets. A little Star Trek, a little Tales, but definitely its own thing, and this is only the 6th installment since 1996! Incredible that it isn't a more popular series. SO3 and 4 had two of the coolest plots I've ever played. Highly recommend.1 found this helpful

I'm going to finish it, but this is easily the worst Star Ocean and worst Tri-Ace game ever. Even the newest Valkyrie Profile was better than this
