TIERRA - Mystery Point & Click Adventure

I am not recommending this game. If I was to compare this to any of the point and click games(and all of them Indie and many of them by just one person) that I've played recently it would come up short. So short, that one could barely see it. It's an escape the room game, it isn't even an adventure game. There appears to be NO story, no back story, even ...no pieces of paper that explain why we(aka the person are/is there) Some of the puzzles I liked but the bugs prevented me from having MANY react the way they were supposed to once I got the right combinations etc... UGH There is NO menu, there are no controls, (except for a large button that fortunately will turn off the music, but FORTUNATELY will leave sounds so that one can hear ones tromping footsteps and also birdsong(the latter, was actually nice) So you cannot exit easily (I CAD -ed) Oh yes, and it isn't finished...."To Be Continued" IF this game was polished more and cleaned up (bug wise) I might think it worthy of seeing what happened next but quite honestly, it isn't worth the money nor time.

Very short (less than 1/2 hour of gameplay), although some nice puzzles. The only way I could find to quit the game was to do an Alt-F4! Even at the "promotional price" of 10% off I didn't feel I got my money's worth!

Another short point-and-click from Chris Luetchford's M9 games. Like the others, this one is way too short for the price. Again, US$2-3, at most, would be about right. Better would be if he'd consolidate them into a single game, which would only make sense as they all seem to end with "to be continued," as though they are part of a single narrative. The game is pure puzzle-solving, which we were able to do without a walkthrough. Some are really easy, others call for a bit of head-scratching. As is also common with M9 games, a couple of them require making extremely fine distinctions between colors or between shapes. We wonder if Mr. Luetchford thinks that kind of near-ambiguity is a bone fide game mechanic. In our view, it is not. It is merely frustrating because it can require outright guessing among possible alternatives, which is not how anyone wants to "solve" a puzzle. It is also going to play Hob with anyone who has the slightest vision problems (like one of us does). On the whole, we like this series. But we think more play-testing (and, possibly, more incorporation of what his play-testers tell him) would result in a superior product. As an example, we found at least two …

Really didn't like this and requested a refund after a half hour. You don't seem to have a TRUE idea of where you can go and some of the puzzles are just Too Far Of a Stretch as to what to do. (I remember one about the alphabet but I won't spoil it IF you are playing it). Other things soon become aggravating like: You need to get into a door but a Crowbar won't work....only a key....WTF? You need to cut something but a knife won't do...only a clipper....WTF? It's the lack of sense and the bad navigation that finally made me just say....no more!

Confusing. I'll wait till a guide is made.

Fun puzzle and walking sim. Smooth controls, plenty of puzzles. I love games like these.
