Ring of Pain

Spend days on that game, wish there was more like this. Easy rules, depth in game. Simple, but still you have that feeling of the world the game creates.

Haven't played all that much or progressed super far in terms of completion yet, but it's a lot of fun. The deckbuilder portion isn't building a deck of attacks like a lot of roguelites are, instead you build sets of quipment with passives which change how you play. Challenging but definitely recommend, planning on playing a lot more of this.

one of the most unique roguelikes out there, while I was skeptical of the theming and story at first, it's ended up being something that's really stuck with me, along with a very unique gameplay system, that leads to a lot of interesting strategy and varied and interesting builds, this game deserves more eyes on it

Good indie title. Appropriately challenging. It also requires some luck to get the right equipment to make a broken build. The runs can be quite short, which is a good thing.. You can beat the game within a few hours with the right strategy.

At 20 bucks I feel the price is just slightly above what I'd *want* to pay for it, but it cannot be said it's bad value. If anything it's very fair and we've all just gotten used to low prices. It's a very expansive game with an interesting bit of lore tucked away, a lovely twisted horror vibe to it and a very, VERY fun mix of systems and stats that interplay with each other. It's going to pummel you the first hour or two you play, and once you finally get a handle on things and get a "god run" you'll be treated to so much extra goodies and a few modifiers for your runs that suck you deeper and deeper. Also one of the only games I've ever played where I willingly take a crack at daily seeded runs - which are interestingly tailored.

The game struggles with many of the pitfalls of RNG based deck-builders and unfortunately the base gameplay loop isn't enough to overcome those pitfalls and actually make it enjoyable.
