✦ AI summary

LIGHTNING RETURNS™: FINAL FANTASY® XIII receives mixed feedback, with players praising its beautifully crafted world and ambiance but criticizing its gameplay mechanics, particularly the restrictive time limit that discourages exploration, unintuitive quest design relying heavily on guides, and combat that feels less polished than earlier Final Fantasy entries.

Quite mixed feelings about 13-3, overall it still is afflicted by inferior gameplay compared to the rest of FF especially since you expect better combat after so many entries. The one thing that genuinely shines in this game is the world, it is brimming with love and ambience. Even at that, the game does everything to try and divert you from experiencing it at your leisure by implementing a time limit, which contradicts all the effort that has been put (at least if you just want to have one playthrough) into creating the environment. I was able to bypass all of this thanks to mods that made me stall the time but still.... why the hostility?

I absolutely love this game and it has only gotten better with mods. Install the mod "Savior's Patch" and you won't regret it. The graphics of 13-3 become very comparable to the first two with it.

WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ IS THIS GAME REGION LOCKED? FF13-1 has English FF13-2 has English And suddenly they decided to lock this game to Japanese if you bought it in Japan? What kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is that?

I can't really recommend this game. Even though I have loved the other two from the trilogy, this one just feels off. Probably caused by the fact they had low budget or something for this one. Anyway, the game is 80% find and seek, be it side quests(which you need to do if you want to beat the final boss) or main quests. dozens of quests just to find hidden things or stuff around then entire map, you need to guess where the NPCs are, be it to receive quests or to complete them. I've been using a guide for most of the time because it would be impossible to beat it in one go before the time ended. They added a new combat that looked interesting at the start, but you hardly get any skills that are good enough, neither you will upgrade them that frequent after the first hours. Only really good point is the OST as all the games in the trilogy had, but most of them are from the other two games; they added it in a interesting way tho, like npc playing the instrument and singing.

Perfect ending to an exceptional trilogy. I hate the time mangament aspect of this game though lol but apart from that, everything else is very good
