CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION

------Activating Combat Mode------ Great prequel to one of the best JRPGs ever made. Combat is slick, summons are awesome, music is superb and the DMW system adds a bit of randomness and variety to the encounters. Despite this being a prequel, do not play this first unless you haven't played the original FFVII yet; Major plot twists will be spoiled and pretty much the entire experience will be ruined for you. Hard to believe that this is a remaster of a 2007 PSP game but the team did a great job by keeping the core experience the same while updating the visuals and audio to a respectable degree. Definitely recommend. ------Conflict Resolved------

The gameplay is alright and I can see it being fairly interesting, but the story is a huge unrecoverable mess. It comes off as a terrible fanfiction with self insert OCs they came up while sniffing their own fumes and reading Socrates. I would implore anyone who cares about the original game's story to actively stay away. It does an impressive job at actually making the original game's plot worse. I think the game has some upsides despite its PSP roots in the gameplay department, with the materia especially, but that story is something best ignored.

I LOVE Final Fantasy. But I cannot recommend this game, especially not for $49.99 as that's way overpriced. The only thing that's really been done here is some graphical upscaling. This game has about 5 hours of actual story and unique content. It's just a re-release of an older PSP game. There are 300 side missions and each one plays 99.9% the same. They're all the same handful of biomes and corridors. I called it quits at 1/3 of the way through them once I finished the story. It's just too boring to grind through. There are things I like about the game. Zack's relationships with the various characters are great. Getting a look behind the scenes of Shinra is awesome. Visiting and experiencing things that were remembered or mentioned in the original FF7 is moist eggcellent. When not ruined by retcon anyway. Materia Melding is fun and seeing the new variations to the existing FF spells is cool beans. I thought the ending sequence was good. However, I feel the writing and story takes away from the original game.[spoiler]I absolutely hate how they gave Angeal and Genesis one wings. Also when Zack and Aerith are talking about how special his eyes were I really felt Aerith was done …

usually when i dislike a game I can see how its fun for others. I don't see how this game is fun for anyone. To avoid continuing with this game I instead will do all my college work for weeks ahead of the due date because that is more interesting and less stressful. The combat is horrible and the most boring thing you will ever do. The battles last way too long and they just keep coming every second. The story is boring too, I cant care for anything the story tells me especially with a billion small battles in between just to lead up to some stupid boss battle. I'm starting to find the only thing redeemable about this game to be horrible now too. Despite playing as Zack for 5 hours now I have zero clue or care for who he is as a person. if he died right now I would feel absolutely nothing. At this point in the story I should care for something but i don't. I don't even want to watch anyone play through this game because its so bad. Maybe when i complete this game or get past where I am at it will get better.

GOD I hate the combat in this game not because it's terrible but they throw WAY too many enemies at you and you have to spam their weaknesses as if you don't the enemies are very tanky. Really annoying, the story is one of my favs but towards the end of the game the amount of combat is really annoying while forcing you too look for semi hidden objects and you constantly get pokemon esk battles as if you're in tall grass. I would rather suggest if you want to know the story to watch a video on it rather than playing as this game might be short, but it's really repetitive.
