Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition

I don't know where to start. This is the classic game I loved as a kid, and the remake looks great. I loved seeing the old screens superimposed over the new screens so you could see the difference in detail. There's one place this remake falls short though. They hired a bunch of voice actors using from every southern crawl except Southern Louisiana. The accents would have fared better for a Savannah Georgia setting. Not one VA sounded like they ever tasted a Cafe Du Monde beignet in the French quarter. I think the most egregious was Gabriel himself. If I had to suffer one more time hearing Matthew Mcconaughey say "Nawlins" one more time old Wolfgang wouldn't have had to sacrifice himself, I would have cut my own heart out. This game, through voice acting alone, set back Louisiana culture more than the movie The Waterboy. Play the game, it's fire, play it on mute though smh.

Rare case of remake done perfectly right.

A decent remake of the Original game from back in 1993, the game runs clean at 120 FPS in 4K on modern hardware. Can definitely recommend this!

New version of a masterpiece in adventure game genre. Educating storytelling and fascinating story. The player's role is more a private detective rather than a book writer (even if the main character has a book store as a home base). Succeeds and provides credibility in many ways: [list] [*]Music (lots of different style tracks, which blend well into the acts and locations) [*]Obtaining knowledge on Voodoo cult in New Orleans (by interviewing people in the game) takes the player forward in the journey [*]Game structuring (daily morning paper opens a new day, passing certain story related tasks closes a day) [*]Journal book menu (player can recap the story while progressing, the hint system for more difficult problems) [*]Acting / animations of characters [*]Puzzles are fascinating and carefully prepared (comparable at some level to learning a new small language) [/list]

Me encanta Gabriel, tiene la mejor personalidad del mundo y es muy relajante resolver los misterios de la historia.
