Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong

Not worth even a dollar!

Honestly? Pretty bad. Movement speed is frustratingly slow. Uninspired music. Uninspiring visuals. But my main complaint is with the writing quality -- there are numerous things that are inconsistent with lore (e.g., SPOILERS ... SERIOUSLY, SPOILERS! READ AT OWN RISK. ... ... ... 1) a third party can't actually forcibly turn someone into a vampire simply by slitting a vampire's wrist and having them drink -- in WoD, the Embrace actually requires an act of willpower. 2) If a random thinblood mouthed off to an Elder embraced in the early 1700s and then had the nerve to use a discipline on them (lol), said thinblood would promptly get his head torn off. 3) A different dimension in a public library, where any number of mortals would have discovered it long ago? Come on -- at least VtM: Bloodlines hid their weird Masquerade-breaking things in the sewers! 4) There's a lot of woke anti-human and anti-capitalist bs -- and WORSE, the characters BELIEVE that nonsense and think those points make compelling arguments. E.g., you're supposed to believe a vampire character is "bad" just because he happens to be a good businessman. Or another example -- you are speaking to a senior memb…

Well... it was not easy, yet it is done. Short Verstion? Yes, it’s worth playing. But only for World of Darkness fans. To anyone else, the game would seem like a total failure — take it from someone who played it at launch and again four years later. Even for die-hard fans, the game lacks replayability and is riddled with a million flaws... At launch:  My initial reaction was, naturally, one of revulsion — too many passwords, puzzles, and walls of text, with hardly any actual gameplay. On top of that, the game wasn't just buggy at launch; it was barely playable. Simply put, it didn't excel at anything. Except for its title: Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. It was a tough slog for someone who dislikes using walkthroughs and has no patience for bugs, glitches, or puzzles. Then again, there weren't really any walkthroughs available anyway. The game had just come out, and everyone was trying to muddle through, stumbling over errors and roadblocks that halted progress. And yet, after finishing this "mess of a game," a tiny spark of hope remained in me. It was a terrible, embarrassing title, but there was still something to it...
