Cortex is a minimalist endless runner where you guide a cube down a path without hitting the sides. That's right, this game has worse graphics and shallower gameplay than SkiFree. Resolution and controls are locked, there's no graphics tweaks. The visual presentation here is lazy and worse than most mobile apps and even browser games. It's not even free, the developer has riddled this with microtransaction "donationware" to unlock all the features of the game. Why does a garbage endless runner worse than Unity asset flips need microtransactions? Yeah, it doesn't. This is basically digital panhandling, the online equivalent of the homeless bums that splash dirty water on your windscreen at the traffic lights with their hands out for a "tip". Obviously this is unrecommendable.

Here we have a free Tunnel-Runner Indie Game, in which you run through 4 parts of stages on each level. And on each level, you get closer to the brain (a nice little detail if you ask me). This is one of the games that shows that sometimes less is more. It's a nice challenging game (considering I couldn't play the fast part since it's pay to unlock) with great music and responsive controls (only left+right :p). You can 'grind' the wall if you want, which is a nice detail and could be added as an achievement in the future. Overall, a pass.
