Folding space; a technology allowing anyone to travel light-years in mere moments. Quite inconvenient, a secretive corporation holds a monopoly on this technology. This exact corporation started to show an obsessive interest in a large uncharted nebula in a distant arm of the galaxy. Eyebrows were raised all over the galaxy.
You, the Pilot, are working off the remainder of your sentence as an involuntary stellar cartographer for this corporation. Your mission is to map as much as possible and report back with your findings. Turns out the small spacecraft they issued you is...let's call it finicky. And the infantile Artificial Intelligence unit is of no real support either. Good luck out there!

What a unique game! It has a very steep learning curve and overcomplicated gameplay. The game is basically you jump around in space with a mini space station, fight space monsters, and try to fix the ship's problems. And there are a lot of things that can be broken down, and fixing them is like assembling IKEA furniture.2 found this helpful
The core idea is interesting - managing a ship that constantly breaks down - but the execution is frustrating and feels buggy. Your ship's systems fail often, and the in-game manual only partially explains repairs. You also need spare parts and power to fix problems, and it's easy to run out mid-mission. Often multiple systems fail at once, and while you're fumbling through the manual to fix one issue another alien attacks and rips your hull apart. There's no manual save, so failure means starting the mission from scratch. The tension could be compelling, but right now it mostly feels unfair: random simultaneous breakdowns, scarce resources, and no meaningful way to recover make the gameplay more annoying than strategic. In its current state it's more frustrating than fun.

I really enjoyed this game! It's a chaotic mess of running around trying to fix things as they break, with a constant rush to get everything back in order before disaster strikes. The upgrade points are scarce, making it easy to get stuck in a tough spot if you run out of resources for repairs. But that challenge adds a lot of satisfaction when you manage to keep the "hunk of junk" working properly. The narrative is simple but well-done, adding just the right amount of context without overshadowing the gameplay.
