F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

In this afterschool horror story for 7th graders, you play as an obese special forces mall cop. He has only the stamina to run 2 feet, but must avoid meeting his death from weirdo jump scare 12 year old Japanese ghost poser Alma. Prepare yourself to repeatedly die in obtuse puzzles, burn to death instantly on easy mode, and crawl through an hour of slow motion monster closets with only badly designed guns as your friends. The only nightmare here is playing a game that was never properly polished to start. Watch some Are You Afraid of the Dark and have a juice box instead.

Cool if you wanna kill 8 hours on a weekend. Story's nothing to write home about. Slow-mo is here with no new wrinkles. Gunplay kept me in its loop long enough to see the end credits. Which speaking of, what an abrupt ending to this thing. Jarring even. I never really felt the momentum building with each new sequence. Probably because everyone in this are stock military types with no charm or interesting backstories. I feel similarly about its predecessor though I'm more forgiving for its age, pacing, and variety. This just felt like balls to the wall shooter for most of the runtime. Or at least that was me trying to speedrun through this thing lol. Sometimes you just gotta play a mediocre military FPS from the late aughts. It feels far less cynical than anything you'll find attempting a similar tone today. Please don't take this as an invitation to try :) thx

this game is good but so much could have gone into horror but we did not get that needs more horror but still a fun play

classic fps shooter. best in the series. great scares. good action

It's a fun extension of the original F.E.A.R. - BUT - why oh why did they remove the ability to quicksave? It makes for incredibly boring repetition where there are long action sequences and numerous enemies to eliminate, such as assassins when you're following Keegan after the tunnel.
