About Guts 'n Grunts
APR 07, 2060. It has been 40 years since the Technate has taken control of the world. In their arrogance and gluttony, they created a breed of intelligent pig. These pigs were trained from birth to self slaughter when they reach mature age. For a time, the Technocrats enjoyed their meat.
Then, a special boar was born -- one hellbent on destroying the Technate and putting the pigs at their rightful place atop the tower. His name was Rudy Hammon.
Rudy must destroy the Technocratic infrastructure in his mission to dethrone Klaus Küller, the highest of the Technocrats. Along the way, he will face mutants, giant robots, and pork-crazed scientists who can't stop eating.
The game plays like classics from the 80s and 90s such as Contra and Turrican. Find power-ups. Earn upgrades. Swim, shoot, and roll for pig freedom!

a true hidden gem. why arnt more people playing this? it basically plays like contra with a bit of early sonic and metroid thrown in. sure its a bit rough, but that didnt stop me from enjoying it.4 found this helpful
Played on OG 512 Steam Deck without issues. This was a really fun time, has some metroidvania elements which is a good thing imo. A fun time with this one and if you buy something at shops, save and quit the game and you’ll have the item purchased without losing your coins. I liked this game a lot.2 found this helpful
Deceptively difficult little run n' gun. Bonus objectives reward you for exploring every little nook and cranny and allow you to obtain upgrades sooner2 found this helpful
Quality little game with tight controls and fluid movement. Good for a platformer you can complete in one night. Some good enemy designs. Attainable collectibles. Only complaint is can be a little redundant and there is one stage level where there are way too many "instant" kills including *off-screen* enemies that can instant kill you. Otherwise, a hidden gem of sorts.1 found this helpful
If you like Jazz Jackrabbit that game is very similiar to it. The cartoony graphics look great, Power Weapons are fun, the only thing that lacks in creativity is the level design. The levels are the same only slightly changed. Gameplay is fantastic, the bosses could have been more challenging. But all in all I had a lot of fun and it was a fun experience.1 found this helpful
