About Nystagmus
An island, shrouded with darkness and clouds of mystery, is your only hope for salvation.
In this first-person horror game, your character, an engineer in search for his fiancee, arrives at the suspicious island you’ve only ever heard about. When your boat suddenly breaks, you are trapped on the island. You must hunt down the materials on your list to rebuild your boat while also searching for your missing fiance so you can leave as quickly as possible.
But soon, it’s evident that it’s not going to be that simple. And as a strange blue light shines over your figure, the one thing you can do now is run and hide.
Maybe you’ll survive… if it doesn’t find you.

"Nystagmus" is a basic asset flipped first person horror adventure game, one of literally thousands of first person horror adventure game asset flips infesting Steam. And, just like Nystagmus, these asset flipped first person horror adventure games have little to no value as games, especially when compared to honestly and professionally developed products. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Визуальный стиль, хоть и нарочито пиксельный, создает гнетущее ощущение за счет мрачных тонов и удачного использования освещения. Звуковое сопровождение играет ключевую роль, дополняя чувство тревоги и одиночества. Геймплей фокусируется на исследовании локаций и решении простых головоломок, но главное здесь - это постоянное ощущение опасности. Не то чтобы игра пугает скримерами, скорее она давит на чувство неопределенности и страха перед неизведанным. История подается фрагментарно, заставляя игрока самостоятельно собирать кусочки пазла. Несмотря на небольшую продолжительность, 'Nystagmus' запоминается своим уникальным визуальным стилем, атмосферным саунд-дизайном и умением создавать напряжение, не прибегая к банальным хоррор-приемам. Рекомендуется любителям инди-хорроров, ценящим атмосферу и исследование.
