About Synthesis: Mind, Body, and Soul
Forced out of her solitude, the ancient entity, Soul returns to defend the world she once strove to rebuild. From the ashes of an ancient war, came the fusion of cybernetic and organic life, a synthesis of forms that now connects all life on the planet. But a new threat has emerged: The Prophet of Ruin, intent on overriding the network that spans all minds, enslaving them to his vile purposes.
You play as Soul, and must take over the bodies of enemies to progress, inheriting their strengths and weaknesses. Swap between foes to maintain your health and gain valuable abilities that will aid in you in your struggle against the evil Prophet.

Synethsis: Mind, Body, and Soul is a student project from the Southern Arkansas Universities "Game Lab" school of game development. It's a Unity based third person brawler/shooter with a twist, you possess the enemies and can jump between them (a limited number of times). Progression in the game is a combination of straightforward combat and selective enemy possessions. It appears a reasonable amount of work went into level design, art style and backstory here, although hard work doesn't guarantee translating into a good product. The game comes across as very unpolished and badly optimised. The in-game assets are a mish-mash of inconsistent styles, but on the upside it doesn't look like they're asset flipped, they're just not very good. Gameplay control and handling is pretty clunky too, but the game does "work" well enough that it could be played... it's just not fun due to the defects, and it's not just game design and polish problems. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. I'm not sure the students passed the course here. As for gamers... well, because this was a stu…1 found this helpful
Before I played Synthesis: Mind, Body and Soul, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
This game runs HORRIBLY on a 3090. With Ultra settings 1440p, 20-35 FPS. and Low Settings 35-50 fps. The Gameplay is Bland. Its not fun or Anything. The Level Design is also Horrible. I do not recommend this game.
