About Ultros
Are you the gruesome breaker of this cycle, or can you become a link from destruction to rebirth?

ULTROS is set in a multifaceted realm - a vast alien landscape teeming with life. Grounded in science fiction, ULTROS comes wrapped in an eccentric art style and a mystical soundtrack from the visionary El Huervo, renowned for his work on Hotline Miami. ULTROS explores meta-themes of mental health, life, death, and karmic cycles through deep lore and environmental storytelling.
Experience brutal, intimate, close-quarter combat with cosmic lifeforms, driven by a sense of urgency – where precision is paramount and every cut of your blade counts. Yet this intense combat is juxtaposed with cultivating the greenery and tending to plant life in The Sarcophagus, providing precious moments of contemplation and peace. In turn, this grants deeper access to obscured paths.
The rich world of ULTROS holds many secrets for those curious enough — and fearless enough — to seek them out. A unique loop-based mechanic will allow you to start over at key moments in the story, providing opportunities to unfold such secrets, unlock different areas of the world and new abilities on a branching skill tree. Experiment with and master your own specific fighting style as you explore the world of ULTROS. Each loop brings you closer to the truth...DLC & expansions

Lovely art, fun game. Worth the ~10-12 hours to complete and purchased when it was on sale. Definitely worth it!

Beautiful and different Metroidvania. You have a short sword. You have some areas you can't reach even with a double jump but there are all kinds of different seeds around the world and you can plant them to get different types of plants to go. Trees you can climb. Vines you can swing from. Blood spewing plants that make platforms. The art style is great. it is a very big game so far with a lot of replayability. The colors look amazing on a OLED. Steam Deck looks great. TV looks great. Worth at least $20, if you can get it for less, do it!
Criminally underrated. Ultros' gardening system is the most unique approach to world progression that I have experienced. It is supported by rich mechanics that allow for experimentation and enable the player to make creative use of their environment. This is to say nothing of the "Perfect Variety" combat mechanic, fluid movement, or much-lauded art style directed by El Huervo (of Hotline Miami fame). I would also be remiss if I did not mention Ultros' cycle system, which has been a point of division among players. Much like the three-day system found in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, the cycle system threatens player progression and requires careful planning. However, it does an excellent job of encouraging the player to explore for items that can substantially mitigate the cycle's impact. If after reading this you find yourself more intrigued than intimidated, I would recommend picking this one up.
A delightful, gorgeous, weird metroidvania. Played it on the attached device, a Legion Go, and a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 with no issues at all.
the only game that made me feel the same way silksong n hollow knight did
