As an attempt to create a new entry in a classic RPG series after almost 20 years, I think this game succeeds phenomenally well. It absolutely feels like a continuation of that legacy, from its visual design to its general story structure to the combat system. However, feeling like a new SNES jrpg has its drawbacks as well: the characters are pretty simplistic/one-note and some of the systems are kinda unintuitive/clunky. Overall, this is a great choice if you want an old-fashioned fantasy jrpg. Note: We ain't getting any more of these, because the studio was shut down ON release day. RIP

Pros : - The game world is beautiful Cons : - Combat is very shallow. - The last 4 chapters drag on. - The english dub leaves a lot to be desired, which intern makes the story very boring. - Low enemy verity. I regret buying this game...

Decent game, pretty much what i would expect from the series (prefer sword of mana though), for better experience DO NOT play it with english voice over, the VAs did a good job but american accents do not fit the game style at all. The locations are very nicely crafted and combat is fun, just wish it had less of the little annoying side quests (they are optional but i hate leaving quests behind). All in all it was fun.

Is it a Mana game, yes. Is it a fun to play game, sometimes. Is the story predictable and kind of boring, it is a Mana game. Are there game breaking glitches, none that I found but others have had issues. Would I recommend this game, no, unless heavily on discount or you love the Mana series. The story is middling, with the undertone of sacrifices but everyone is happy. Characters range from being annoying most of the time or sometimes being funny or fine. Game seriously needed some TLC and day 1 patch to fix bugs all over the place. Characters touch a branch in a cutscene just levitate, even disappear, or just continually walk in place/walls. Some outfits clip into themselves, even Val's starting class. Lastly, the only good portion is the combat/class system. I like the "seed" powers being able to put spells on a non caster and make any do what you want. The new class system is fine but the pacing at which you get ele and unlock the further trees is absurd. The one detriment to combat is to never, and I do me NEVER finish your combos. The last hit of every basic combo sends the enemy flying away or in the air just out of reach for you to miss connecting the next combo without …

Gameplay and Story are great so far, but my main highlight was when i fought the last boss of chapter 1 and clipped through the boat, landed the in the water below it, and the game had to warp me back up. Absolute Cimana
