About SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered

- Story
Our tale starts with two protagonists: Gustave, heir to an esteemed royal line, and Wil, a young man who makes his way in the world performing excavation work.
Though born in the same era, their circumstances could not be more different, and as Gustave is faced with strife and conflict between nations, Wil finds himself confronting a world-threatening calamity that lurks in the shadows.

Their stories gradually coalesce to form a single history.

------------------------------

The game's "History Choice" system gives players the freedom to choose which events to play, and in doing so has them assume the roles of various characters and experience the world's history in fragments.
In addition to the glimmer and combo mechanics that the SaGa series is known for, this title also features one-on-one duels.
Players will find themselves confronted with battles both strategic and highly compelling.

------------------------------

New Features

For this remaster, the game's impressionist watercolor graphics have been upgraded to a higher resolution, giving them a greater sense of warmth and delicacy.
With a completely rebuilt UI and a number of new features, the gameplay experience is smoother than ever.

- New Events
Events that touch on stories previously untold in the original have been added, as well as a number of characters who are newly playable in battle.
Through these additions, players will be able to experience the world of Sandail like never before.

- Character Growth
A new feature called "Parameter Inheritance" lets one character inherit the stats of another, allowing for greater customization.

- Featuring Enhanced Bosses!
A number of powerful, augmented bosses have been added for those seeking a greater challenge.

- Dig! Dig! Digger
Diggers you recruit in-game can be sent on expeditions.
Should an expedition end in success, diggers will come home with items—but watch out, because they have a bad habit of slacking off when left unsupervised!

- Gameplay Improvements
With the addition of things like high-speed functionality and a New Game+ mode that allows you to carry over your completion data, changes have been made to create a more comfortable gameplay experience.

I thought the OG was already a timeless masterpiece but man, the remaster somehow managed to improve it by such a ridiculous margin, it makes the old version seem like an unplayable piece of ♥♥♥♥ in comparison They streamlined the chronology, so you don't have to hop all around the world and research which event happens before which so you don't get spoiled, they made it so you can unequip characters inbetween events (including those you don't have access to anymore), they made it so you can scrap items from the menu without having to go back to town and even added a storage to save up on precious space, they made it clearer when you can go back to towns inbetween events for some shopping, as well as telling you when it'd be a good idea to make a separate save so you don't get ♥♥♥♥♥♥, they added a stats inheritance system (kinda like the mentorship system from Breath of Fire 3) so you aren't penalized for grinding outside of the endgame.. heck, they even added the Pocket Playstation minigame! (it's mostly useless but hey, free items) But those are only the gameplay additions. They also added a bunch of new events to pad out the lore and add extra character background and exp…

This was my childhood JRPG. Probably have 800+ hours on it in my lifetime between the PS1 release, emulator, and now the remaster. This game was largely made for fans of this game and a lot of the Remastered features will only be apparent to them including systems, balancing, and even additional lore (which comes with new music!). On top of this, these features are optional and people can play the game the way it was originally made. I personally think that the remastered features is the definitive way to play. For those looking into an entry to the SaGa franchise, this is the easiest one to get into due to it's much more linear plot, but it still has one of the most insane endgame final dungeons and you still need to refer to a GameFaq. Enjoy!

Use Nvidia driver 580 for now. 595 crashed on me 5x. Other than that. This is the definitive way to experience Saga 2. Music, graphics, game play all hold up well. It includes fast forward buttons for story and combat. You can toggle them with ease. If you decide to 100% this. You will NEED a guide! Otherwise just look up how to obtain all diggers before playing. The diggers are great for gathering weapons, armor, accessories every 10 minutes. Once you are well fortified with unbreakable gear. You can set it to 90 mins for the better drops. Certain characters are fast to unlock skills. Others need a specific level amounts. Gustaf for example needs 44 Fire/46 Tone. That gives the best spell in the game. But if you pick Cordellia for a final spear ability. It could be as low as level 9 spear! 1-2 minutes of grinding! Parameter inheritance stacks! Put level 20 into one character, add that on top of your current. The game is a range of random skill, spell sparks. New game plus is recommended for picking up everything on your second play through. If you dare to face the final boss on it's super form (optional). Be prepared for pain. Most of the game is moderate to easy difficu…

Like almost every other SaGa remaster and remake, SaGa Frontier 2 has benefitted greatly from a second release. +Vastly improved menus +Inheritance system allows for stats to actually matter on characters you don't have access to later +Restoration of cut content serve to only enhance the story +Visuals and OST still hold up +Generous NG+ feature +/-Significantly more linear than other SaGa games -A few scenarios with unclear objectives -Wartime sequences are still an element that needed more fleshing out

massive win of a game, playstation 1 game with 2030 pc game quality, definitely buy it, its a major win, only negative thing i could say is that the sound track is a bit limited, you'll be listening to the same song over and over again lol, but its okay
