Weirdlands

What a wonderful indie game! I have played a lot in the early access and only now have finally finished it! Time well spent indeed! The writing & story are very well done, and also quite funny, looking at the elemental book descriptions! :) Congratulations to the solo dev! Really captivating and unique art direction and creature design, hints of homage to Ghibli studios and Hogwarts, but it is absolutely its own unique thing! The sound and music also build the world so well, again the color scheme is so vivid and endearing—loves all of it! And the game has a nice pace, not too hard, also no holding you by the hand, just some good old RPG exploration and point-and-clicky in the best way. Can't wait to play through the New Game+ as it is apparently a whole new thing, so a lot of amazing content. If you enjoy whimsical, very unique indie games—give it a go! I highly recommend it! In my humble opinion, I think Weirdlands will stand the test of time in its very clear idea of what it is, for me already a classic, right up there with the best of the genre!

I simply cannot recommend this game enough. The developer did an absolutely fantastic job for what looks like one of their first games. The story is poignant and fascinating. While some may not enjoy the lack of explicit instructions or hand holding, I found it truly delightful to explore the world. I'll come back to write a longer review later, but this little gem might have become one of my favourite games.

This game has rapidly become one of my favourite games of all time, the art is charming, the game wants you to think for yourself and not be on autopilot something sorely missed these days.

A unique creature collector where there are only so many varieties in the world, so they all serve a very unique purpose and interaction. The story is really cool and you get two stories for the price of one as the NG+ is completely different. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Good game, quite fun. If you can't figure out what to do, you have a journal in your book bag.

I loved weirdlands! I wish people knew more about it and honestly would love to make a guide. It is a beautiful mix of fantasy, sci-fi, activism, and intrigue. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and puts you in your place if you go the wrong way before you are ready. I adore it and wish I could play it again like I knew nothing again. The new game plus is an integral part of the game and even changes the story for the better. I absolutely loved it. I need and want more. I appreciate that it rewards you for speaking to everyone and doing everything. The only thing I will say is that I experienced some glitches fishing, especially when encountering the most rare type of fish. It made me not want to complete the fishing journal. I would love that to be patched for future players. Otherwise I loved everything.
